1963 JEEP Rescue Vehicle of the N.L.R.F.D.

(Photo Courtesy of North Little Rock Fire Department and Chief Joe Mc Call)

This 1963 Jeep was the first Rescue 19 of the North Little Rock Fire Department. Notice that the "Civil Defense" (CD) insignia
is prominently displayed between the words "rescue" and "service." Obviously, the Cold War was still taking place and the
United States and its citizens were vigilant about the possibility of a nuclear attack. The NLRFD had a boat attached to the rear
of the rescue unit in this picture, as well. This vehicle was sold at a public auction in 1976, along with the 1939 Seagrave Pumper
and the 1951 Ford/Seagrave Pumper.
