INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THE NEW NLRFD AERIAL PLATFORM:
+ The Aerial Platform has a 500 Horsepower Detroit Series 60 Diesel Engine
+ The truck has a pump that can pump 2000 gallons of water per minute.
+ Each of the nozzles on the front of the platform can handle 1000 gallons of water per minute.
+ One thousand feet of five inch hose will be carried on the vehicle.
+ The new aerial truck can "catch a plug" and lay 5 1/2" hose to a big fire.
+ A smaller amount of 1 3/4" hose can be stored above the pump panel.
+ The apparatus has a booster tank.
+ The Aerial Ladder is 100 feet in length.
+ The cab can seat up to six fire fighters.
+ The apparatus is highly computerized.
+ The outriggers can lift the truck off the ground in order to level it.
+ The is a tremedous amount of storage space.
+ The ground ladders, pike poles, etc. are carried in the center part of the rear of the apparatus.
+ The new NLRFD Aerial Platform has a "Q-Tone" Siren (In addition to Air Horns).
+ It is equipped with an hydraulic generator.
+ The cab is air conditioned (front and rear) for the safety of the crew on hot, summer days. |
